Yes The power to the slot is Off. If you need to
replace the card in this slot, follow these
steps:
1. Open the slot release lever.
2. Remove or replace the board.
3. Connect the cables to the PCI board.
4. Close the slot release lever.
5. Return power to the slot through the
PCI Hot Plug application (the green LED
turns On).
Adding or Replacing PCI Hot Plug
Expansion Boards
WARNING: The hot-plug access door provides access to hazardous energy
circuits. To reduce the risk of injury or damage to the equipment from
hazardous energy, the door should remain locked during normal operation. The
server may also be installed in a controlled access location and serviced only by
qualified personnel.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury from hazardous energy or of
damage to the equipment when working on energized servers with precautions:
■ Remove all watches, rings, and any other loose fitting jewelry.
■ Avoid the use of conductive tools inside the server that could bridge live
parts.
The I/O expansion slots are located on the system board directly beneath the
top access panel and can be reached without having to power down the server
using the PCI Hot Plug access door.
